What would you do

Created by: bnormie46
Team: 2020-21 Winnipeg Jets
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 31, 2019
Published: Oct. 31, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
So the jets have a very good chance not making the playoffs this year Mainly due to the defence.

Pros of this- higher draft pick
Cons- missing playoffs and pissing off the fans

Jets need a better team for next year. Who would you sign and trade, leave your comment below.
Note: Top players like Petrangelo won’t come here due to the fact it’s Winnipeg.
Also UFA players will want a higher salary if Winnipeg wants them. At the end of the day it’s Winnipeg, no offence but it’s the worst city in the NHL to live in

Honestly the top tier UFAs aren’t gonna come here so scratch them all off the list.

My idea would be:

Resign brossoit to 2x1.65
Sign Hamonic to 4x5
Sign reaves to 1x1.75
Lock up RFAs and move on.

Jets gotta grow the talent out of the draft.

Our team is gonna get a lot better just from prospect development.

Yup, that should be the plan. Wait for Samberg, Heinola, Vesalainen, and Niku to be ready for the NHL full time, sign Hamonic to play with Morrissey, and then sign Laine to an extension. That should be Chevy’s game plan for next offseason .

Going off what the jets have picked up in the top 15, since they made it to wpg, I believe this could be a gift for next decadeish, scheifele 7th trouba 10th laine 2nd morrissey 13th and even Connor at 17th

Wasn't Ehlers 9th? Pretty sure Trouba was 8th overall.

Fair enough, left google out, got somewhere close. Key players of the now and future, anyway. I just don’t see any misses in top 15 ish, where was Stanley possibly only miss or slow to the party

Oh man, imagine if they don't make the trade to move up and pick Stanley but instead draft Girard with the 22nd pick and take Hronek with the 36th pick, fans would be having WAY different discussions now.

I think Stanley will be a #5/6 dman at best, definitely wasn't worth picking any earlier then the 3rd round.
I think Vesalainen will be a bust, I'd be using Vesalainen as a trade chip to try and recoup something before his value drops to almost nothing.

Vesalainen is our wheeler replacement and on same trajectory, one can hope and dream, hoping Stanley is our Mcnabb when things get nasty downlow, but this coming from eternal optimist. Damn girard and hronek would have been nice, found some better trades for trouba and Myers possibly, or just drove them to the airport just the same. Jets fans just need to breath, hearing a random rumour on a buffy/scheifele rift. But probably just a small city rumour and more time on there hands jets fans.

McNabb is who they need to mold him after, that's the kind of style of game that could make him a useful NHLer.

I've never heard that, had heard Wheeler and Buff didn't see eye to eye but who knows maybe it's got something to do with Scheiffele, both Scheiffele and Wheeler seem "off" so far this season.

There's obviously way more to this Buff situation then just him pondering retirement or a nagging injury he didn't feel like rehabbing.

There was a comparison to scheifele/buffy and Comrie/salo, so ya there could one large story and craziness yet to come, there’s nothing quite like that to split a team and mess up a build and chemistry.
