I’m not a TML fan.... and even I don’t wish this trade on them. Taking on his contract and not getting an elite talent attached would be a crime.

You lose the elite talent coming back when the Hawks retain salary

That’s not how this works at all. You would need to give the leafs dach and probably a pick to take that contract. If I’m being realistic... there’s no way this trade happens. But nice try (not being sarcastic) I just think seabrooks contract is too hard to move without giving up a major part of chi future.

NYR says yes, they'll push for a 2nd rnd pick but ultimately settle for B prospect

Why? DeAngelo is on his way out and Georgiev is expendable. And Kapanen should be a top-6 forward but Toronto has too many forwards so he's a third-liner there.

I'd rather ride out one more year of Ceci than 5 of an aging seabrook on this brutal contract

Meaning he is expendable with Trouba and Fox on the right side, and also going to price himself out after this year based on his performance. Rangers cap situation gets worse next year with the Shattenkirk buyout penalty. May as well use him while he is at high value. I also personally don't think he will keep this up long-term.

Seabrook's value is negative. That contract is probably the worst in the entire league.

The rangers don’t need another rw plus with the way both players have been playing it’s gonna be way more than that

Chicago takes that Seabrook trade and runs as fast as their old legs will take them

Bad trade for the Rangers. Two NHLers for one. Then that Seabrook trade, terrible long term for the Leafs. And Ceci hasn't been nearly the worse Leaf Dman....it's a CapFriendly fascination...who can make the worse Ceci trade. I'll take a year of Ceci and have 4.5m cap space next summer than never ending 4.5m cap hit of Seabrook, who likely doesn't waive anyway.

Yes but like I said, probably going to price himself out with how he's been playing so it wouldn't make sense to have a guy on the third pair making more than $4 mil.

if you've seen how bad the left side is, it kinda of justifies that.

Yeah it's abysmal right now, but K'Andre Miller, Matthew Robertson and Yegor Rykov are all really solid prospects who have yet to play. I'm also holding out hope that Hajek improves
