No but this assumes he wins the 2c job by the end of the year which he is on track to do

It's not THAT crazy. From the start of last season, Roslovic's primary assists/60 is a sterling 0.84, first among all players with >50 games with the Jets in that span (it's also right in between Filip Forsberg and Matthew Tkachuk). Why the emphasis on that stat? A) it's been demonstrated that primary assists are the most predictive component of points and b) the Jets probably need Roslovic to work predominantly as a playmaker.

I'd set up the lines a touch differently. IMO there's a lot of obvious synergy between Ehlers and Laine. Ehlers is really good at generating chances off the rush, off of takeaways and in the inner slot, which Laine doesn't really do, and Laine's ability to threaten from the circles can generate rebounds for Ehlers without really getting in his way. Ehlers can also carry Laine possessionwise and get Laine's shot working without getting caved in on D. There's actually some research to support this: Alex Novet graded Ehlers as a rusher (characterized by lots of chances from high-danger areas and minimal assists on his goals) and Laine as a bomber (characterized by a more chances from further out and lots of assists on his goals) when he did his goal-scoring style cluster analysis for hockeygraphs way back when. The issue with having them together is that they're both pretty shoot-first, however, Ryan Stimson's style analysis found a ratio of 2 shooters to one passer on a line is fairly optimal. If Roslovic can be that passer, The Jets get a scary top-6 of Connor/Copp (I don't mind Copp there but he might be better off on a straight checking line)-Schiefele-Wheeler and Ehlers-Roslovic-Laine where you can play both lines top-line minutes.

Also, don't trade Perreault for scrap. He's really good.

Roslovic was drafted as a playmaking c so he should be given that role and as a result I am not really supirsed with that stat. Imo the sky is the limit for him. He is uber skilled and can play every way. Between Laine and ehlers, he could easily net 60 plus points (more than little has gotten in years)

60 points is a LOT if the player isn't getting PP production. For reference, 6 total players had 60 5v5 points last year (Kuch, P. Kane, McDavid, Crosby, Tavares and Gaudreau). The highest Jet was Schiefele with 43, and him, Wheeler and Connor were the only ones on the team to break 30. Roslovic has 8 career PP points. Let's temper the expectations a touch.

If he gets 2c I would assume he would be on the pp too which he isn’t rn. If he got say perreault’s pp ice time, he could get there. 40 even strength points with about 20 pp is doable imo especially between ehlers and Laine

40 ES points would've placed him 4th on the team last year, 10 ahead of Ehlers and 13 above Laine. Perrault had 7 total Special teams points. To make 60 points out of that, he'd need to be one of the team's most productive players and triple the production of the guy he's replacing on the PP.

At 2C we should probably expect a little under 30 points at 5v5 and hopefully get a little above that at evens. With some PP production he comes to 45-50. Anything more than that is IMO a big reach.

Fair enough. Ehlers was injured half the year last year and Laine has a down year so not a rest comparison. However I get what ur saying. I still don’t think 60 is a big reach but realistically if he is inbetween Laine and ehlers m, I would expect at least 45 pts (little)
