Change the 2021 pick to a first rounder and the 2020 to a 3rd and I think it's a good trade. I know Cozens is a stud, but moving Okposo's contract requires a first round pick in itself.

A 19 year old franchise defender for a guy whose contract ends at the end of the season? Zero chance. Focus on Stone’s deal in Vegas.

I do not want to give Cozens, even though we are dropping the Okposo contract.

Agree, upgrade both picks, also take out Simmonds and the retained salary. If they want those, then Buf adds

If Okposo and Cozens cancel out, Bogo and a 2nd for Simmonds, then you’re getting Hall @ $3M for Samuelson and a 4th???

This is asinine. If the cost of moving okposo is more than a 2nd- he can make 6 million a year on the 4th line, sitting in the press box, or riding the bus in the ahl. If we had a late first i would listen, but we dont and in no way is a 7oa from 4 months ago the compensation for taking okposo. I dont see the sabres going for hall, i dont think they should be looking at top shelf rentals, and paying for an extended hall is a double whammy because you pay a premium to get him, then you pay for whatever extension he agrees to. If a cost controlled 7 or 8oa like mittelstadt or cozens is being included and we further may have to move reinhart to have the cap make sense, im totally out.

I dont mind the trade to much, though Samuelsson and Cozens is a bit much. Okposo isnt that bad that im desperate to move him. Bogo's contract is expiring and hes currently LTIRd. You'd have to pick something other than Cozens. NJ isnt dealing from a position of power too, pretty much everyone knows Hall is on the block and teams only have to compete with each other to give their best offer, rather than meet NJ's demands

Moving Okposo will cost multiple 1st rounders. Moving Marleau cost a 1st and he's much more productive and he only had 1 year left. Okposo's contract is also pretty much buyout proof given the salary structure.

I added Bogosian, since with Hall and Simmonds I think it would have put BUF over the cap if Bogosian came off the LTIR.

Also, I agree, dealing Cozens and Samuelsson is a huge gamble/ a lot as both could turn into great players. But they way I was looking at it, I am a Devils fan by the way, is that it puts BUF into a more of a contender this season, but would most likely shorten their window overall.

The trade is basically NJ giving up on the next 2-3 years and BUF going all in for the next 3-4 years with Eichel, Hall, Skinner, Ristolainen, Reinhart, and Dahlin.

Brings up a very good point. Everybody outside of Buffalo fans was sure Skinner was going to leave because Buffalo didn't make the playoffs!

So there is no chance Hall stays in New Jersey.

Yeah it is a steep price, but my thoughts behind it was you can use the cap spaced freed up by trading Okposo to re-sign Hall and not just have dead-cap space. It is pretty much Skinner 2.0 but more expensive.

As a Devils fan just trying to maximize Hall's value and alone with Backes in BOS and Alzner in MTL, Okposo contract is up their with the worst that are still moveable, unlike Suter's and Parise's.

Correct and if Cozens and Samuelsson weren't already involved I would say add another one. I think Cozens is going to be a stud

Sabres like having Okposo, so if its costing them multiple first rounders they arent going to do it. They have no cap issues currently

Skinner didnt resign until he met with Kreuger. If they kept status quo going into July, I think Skinner wouldnt be in Buffalo right now. Kreuger has done a lot behind the scenes to settle this locker room and its showing

Still meaning if that was offered by Buffalo which is the side that this trade is coming from on the ACGM NJ would definitely go ahead and make an offer that Buffalo couldn’t possibly offer as a package for Hall.

As if this were actually going to be an offer by Buffalo. Which I have my doubts with Skinner already On that side.
