What has Babcock done wrong exactly? I wouldn't mind a change of coach at some point, but he's not to blame tonight.

Edit: Yes, I guess sending Marner to take the draw on the PK against the top faceoff guy in the league in OT is a questionable move. But it worked in the end.

This Ceci hate started in July. Wish folks looked at the actual game and instead of the names of the jersey. Reilly has been dreadful in his defensive zone. Ceci hasn't been bad, and certainly Barrie and Reilly haven't been good at all.

Game 7 2018 playoffs. Leafs leading 4-3 in the second period. Each side a man short (Bozak) in the box for Leafs. Who does Babcock have on the ice...Marner and Marleau....two non centres.
Leafs ice puck. Bergeron beats Marleau on a draw. Four second later, Krug scores. Game tied 4 - 4. In effect series over. Not having a centre on the ice?

I see a lot of fingers being pointed at Babs but none at Dubas, Why? In my opinion he has screwed up the teams cap structure and hasnt built a team that can win tough games aka playoff hockey. The players are also clearly not buying into a defense first mentality, which was always the strength of Babs Red Wings teams of old. Why Babs head?

Because the hockey gods demand blood. That's why babs head might roll. Although we got the win tonight.

As far as Dubas goes.. well, he's been on the job for, like, a year. Give him another 2 and if it's still a mess, then fire him too . But my take is that it's a so far so better than expected with Dubas. He's pulled some things off.. even with the overpriced contracts considered.

Agree with you about the three big contracts that might have been an overpayment of 4.5m collectively. Yea not good, but Canucks have Ericsson, Habs have Alzner, Rangers have Shattenkirk buyout so the overpayment isn't that devastating . What I don't understand is where were the high priced Leafs executives that should have been supportive of Dubas to get a neutral deal instead of players getting a premium. Seems like Leaf management were incompetent in their negotiations or just neglectful in letting young Dubas having the keys to the "cap house".
