Okay, the game just ended. This is the first time I've seen the Hawks play, so take this with a grain of salt. But Chicago came out listless in the first and wouldn't even have been competitive if LA's goalie hadn't made the worst mistake I've ever seen an NHL goalie make in an actual regular-season game. The second period was basically random and then the teams came out for the third tied and Chicago recorded exactly three shots on goal until they pulled Crawford with more than two minutes to play. So you would think that getting the equalizer would have energized them, but I didn't see too much commitment in the OT and then the winning goal was scored because one of the Hawks didn't want to come back. In short, Chicago looked to me like Anaheim looked in too many games last year -- uncommitted to do what's necessary to win. And that's coaching. (Just my opinion.)
