Gorton said last trade deadline that he doesn't want other teams prospects unless it's in addition to draft picks. Anderson is playing centre in the NHL and could also play wing. Puljujarvi is a bust of a draft pick playing overseas. If he's such a great prospect why is EDM trying to trade him? Horrible trade idea!

Hey @cd282 smile

Some oilers fans think he has a lot of value still.

He was a 4th overall pick that played 139 games and had a point total of 37. That’s .26ppg or 21 points a year. He played 3 seasons which would mean he was either hurt or didn’t play in 107 professional games. He missed 43% of the games he could have possibly played in but I’m the clueless one. If he was such a priority the oilers would have signed him but the reality of the situation is he’s average at best.

Edmonton is not trying to trade him. They want to sign him. He has demanded a trade. Does not want to play for them. So Oilers will listen to offers but would still rather keep him.

He’s been tearing apart the Finnish league and was once a 4th overall pick. He has a lot of offensive upside but it wasn’t utilized in Edmonton. He is only 21 years of age. Andersson hasn’t been great in NY either and is not being utilized properly. A swap of these two players could benefit both teams and both players.

Sure, before last draft. We need more depth as it is, now we'll be selling Kreider, ADa, Stome and maybe Buch. Young forwards is what we're seeking. Most likely gritty role players suited for next year, not maybe picks ready in 4/5 years!

Anderson has a regular NHL shift and not playing overseas. He's being utilised just fine by David Quinn. Anyone who says otherwise is clueless. Puljujarvi has already played 139 NHL and did not make EDM out of training camp because he's not good enough to play in the NHL. That's why he's playing overseas.

That’s not what’s happening. Andersson is getting 4th line minutes after being selected 7th overall two years ago. He’s played well considering his linemates so his lack of ice time is on David Quinn. As for Puljujarvi, he didn’t even go to camp this year because he didn’t have a contract. He said that he wasn’t going to play for the Oilers, and then proceeded to sign a deal in Finland. The reason Puljujarvi isn’t in the NHL is not him not having NHL-caliber skills, but the Oilers not trading him after he requested to get out of Edmonton and get a fresh start somewhere else. I’m not the clueless one here.

I don't get it... Rangers trading a pro player currently getting a regular shift in the NHL who could play centre and wing for a wing playing overseas who's not good enough to play in the NHL does not help NYR's depth, it depletes it.

I was responding with- we need kids, not picks. Lias for PuljPujl is not good for NYR.

You just proved my point even further... What you're saying is even Puljujarvi knows that after 139 NHL games he's not good enough to play in the NHL and instead of signing an NHL contract, he signed a contract overseas.

With EDM having a new coach and a new GM this season it doesn't make sense that Puljujarvi wouldn't report to training camp. Seems much more likely that he wasn't offered a contract.

Why would you want a 21 year old kid that refuses to come to camp and demands a trade of his current team? Does he really think he is that special that he makes the rules? Well...good for him, go tear it up in Finland, but as far as the Rangers go, he can stay there. NO THANK YOU. I will take a kid like Andersson, who breaks his ass every day, doesn't complain, goes down to Hartford when he is told and works on his game, and the comes back to the NHL better than before because he cares and works hard. I would NEVER trade him for a kid like Puljujarvi straight up, no matter how much talent or upside he may have.

At least half a dozen posters here have tried to explain it to you in the past 24 hours. I don't think googling will help at this point, you're willfully ignorant on this subject.

Why don't you comment from our conversations? I completely out debated you on the subject and every point you made, made you look more and more ignorant. Oh! A half dozen protesters there were... Quit quoting other people and quote the many comments between you and me... The ones where you looked like the ignorant fool you truly are. No team is trading anything of value for Puljujarvi... Just let it go! The moments over, you blew it! If someday a team actually does trade anything of value for Puljujarvi, go back and click the bell symbol on this website, bring up our debate, and say see you were wrong and I was right. But for now... "This conversation, is over." (FC)
