Andrew Ladd

Created by: Isles777
Team: 2019-20 New York Islanders
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 3, 2019
Published: Nov. 3, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
He looks like absolute sh*t in his first 2 games in the AHL. I can’t even think who he would replace on the islanders if it even gets to that point. He looks slower than Matt Martin.

Full NTC and that contract is completely buyout proof. I have a feeling he'll be LTIR'd sooner rather than later

Yeah I don’t think he’s capable of being effective at the NHL level and I highly doubt he wants to risk his health playing in the AHL

What happened to him? Remember the hawks traded a 1st and Dano for him. 2016? That’s only 3 years ago. Dano was a prized prospect back then if I remember correctly. They wanted him really bad in that cbj trade involving Saad

He was already on the decline in 2016 and now age/injuries have taken a toll on him. He turns 34 in December

Dano at that time wasn’t performing at all. He would become a suspect in the time the jets traded ladd for him. The main pieces was the first round pick. Ladd add succes with the jets because they where playing a heavy game. The year they traded him was the years the youngster in winnipeg took over and started to play with more speed.

My memory isn’t the best with other teams. I just remember chi wanted Dano really bad then traded him.

Yes coming uo the draft he was a very interesting prospect. When they traded saad to columbus he was the main pieces but he never look comfortable in nhl.

In think that its was more their scouting that was great. They made some changes in 2017 and they drafted well since but they need better scout for nhl too because they had some terrible trade.

I agree. Just think they had Teuvo and used him to dump cap

Seabrook I’m not too mad about. He was a massive part of 3 cups. Loyalty and respect signing.

I disagree even if he where a major part he isn’t worth that money anymore. That why i would like too see the nhl giving option on contract or reduce the length to 5 years maximum.

I agree he currently isn’t worth that much but what do you tell a guy that won you a cup. Thank sorry we aren’t paying you. I think nhl should limit ufa signing to 4 years. Or any player over 27 can only sign 5 year deals. Idk has to be an easier way ha

That’s what i think. Nathan horton have sign long term deal and have been hurt for most of it. I know that players like long term because they are the beneficiaries but i think that it would be best for the league. Some players would make the same kind of money but team would have more leverage with the shorter term. Olayers hitting the market at 27 would still have another ufa at 32 to cash in. And with the salary cap going up each season they would end up making more money

Players like the long term deal but vet players signing them end up screwing over younger players. Players are forced to take bridge deals or doNot get signed. Nhl ratings are high so they don’t care
