Hall sign and trade. I am not sure the duration or amount, but I think he might take less, maybe in the 9.75 mil range for an obvious chance to compete for the cup for the next few years. Also I don't know if we could get both of the draft picks. Might be asking too much and might need to remove the first?

I think the first colorado trade looks good, with an extension at 9.75 that a fair deal. I don't see them doing the 2nd trade though colorado has been waiting on timmins for a while now and he's finally back from injury i don't see us trading him for someone who will most likely get picked off in the expansion draft.

I wasn't sure, I know you guys are looking for a cup run and thought he would help. He has been playing fairly well lately, but he is not a long term solution for us. At least I hope not.

that is too much, over payment.
Timmins Zads, Bura, and 3 draft picks? Dear lord that is just a gross over payment and a way to just gut a team, killing their cup window before it even opens fully

I would say the vast majority of avs fans (and the majority of any other teams fan base with that sort of value given up) would say thanks no thanks if that is what the cost of Hall is. Devils can ask for too much, not get a trade and he will walk for nothing

for the Hall trade it was only two picks, and in the comments I noted that I thought it would be too much and had remove the 1st? To the Vatanen trade I figured Timmins was a second round pick, and Vatanen is playing well so added the 4th.

Remove the 1st from the Hall trade, remove the 4th from the Timmins trade, does that still look to be too much?

With guaranteed extension, I think it's a good deal for both. Actually I'd be surprised if NJ would take players such as Bura and Zadorov. i'd imagine them being after top prospects rather than mid-level NHL assets not improving much anymore.

TImmins is a no go if thats a separate trade for Vatanen, Avs would never consider moving their golden boy (Sakic, Bednar etc love the kid and arent moving him). I dont think Avs have any interest in Vatanen, he doesnt fill a need what so ever. Hes worth more to the Avs than a 2nd, remember this was a prospect who was considered a top 50 in all the NHL before he got his concussion. The talent is still there.

if its an extended hall for 1st Bura and Zads, they do that all day, but adding the extra pick on top of the timmins move was just over kill,

oh I agree, I mean they would go for the Mark Stone package, which on the avs would be Byram Nieto and a 2nd. For the Avs who are trying to win the cup in the mack window, Hall would be nice but I think this really closes the window fast when you are swapping out Bura for Hall, and Vatanen for Zads but adding so much more cap hit that its almost next to impossible to resign Landeskog, Makar, and Grubi in 2 years.

This is win it now or else this blows up in your face and you get into cap hell before you even sniff the cup (like Toronto did) by doing this exact same move with Tavares

No on Burakovsky. Yes on Timmins. NJD are plenty deep at top 9 Forward. I'd rather have Zadorov and an extra pick/prospect. As far as Vatanen goes, he's playing his way into 1st rounder trade territory. He's playing excellent 2-way hockey. Devils core is crazy young and they should continue to build through the draft. I like Timmins though. I think he'd be a good fit alongside Ty Smith, a LHD.

To me that's the fair comparison deal that was established by Mark Stone. Depending on what Hall signs for and where the Avs are at the time of the TDL, it would be wise for them to at least entertain the trade.

I would be torn if that deal did go down, if thats the case its probably a good sign that its a fair deal haha

The Edmonton trade is pretty far off. No possible way Holland will go for that.
