???? a first round pick for stecher. Where you from? This trade is terrible. He is the 6 defenseman in Vancouver and he barely play. He would end up on waivers team would claim him. Come on

Okay you're really under rating him. He is easily a decent second pairing guy but I agree with what you said about the offer. I believe if The OP wanted Stecher an offer of Kovacevic and a 2020 Third is fair

Right now stecher is been use a 6 defenseman. He average around 14 min a game. Is value is a 4 round pick not more. And inam very generous, you can ask for more. Last year was another story he had more responsibility but team aren’t looking for a player in 2017 or 2018 they look at what the players gave you now and based on is stats and ice time he isn’t worth a lot

He's playing there because the top 4 D pairings on vancouver have been too good to change. Hughes and Stecher wouldn't be a good pairing because they are both offensively minded. Stecher is unhappy with his ice time and rightfully deserves more.

If WPG thinks they can pull off a cup run, they would be betting this is a late round pick. They also have his RFA rights beyond this year. I'd be willing to straight up do this trade for a 2nd with a condition to become a first.

The Jets would be morons to part with their 1st for Stetcher, a 2nd and a B-prospect should be plenty enough.
Also the Dillon trade is really unnecessary, that deal is just taking on extra money for nothing.
Pharow liked this.

You would be willing but you’re bot a nhl gm of course, no one is dumb enough to pay a second or a conditionnal first for a average defenseman. Vancouver isn’t in force position with that and longer stecher play 14 minutes and lesser is value will be. Nathan beaulieu had similar path to stecher and was traded for a third round pick don’t expect anythibg more then that

That's a fair deal then. Depending on who the prospect is.
I was originally thinking of swapping Appleton for Stecher but I don't think either side wants that swap.

Stecher isn't useless though. Ice time doesn't mean everything. Look at how the islanders have to spread their top 6. Even if a 1st isn't ideal, the difference between it and the fair offer is not nearly large enough to get up tight over.

Right now the jets would think about it. Swapping appleton for stecher. Both does have the succes they want and could benefit of a change. I don’t think that winnipeg is interested in trading away pick since the last 2 season they gave up a lot of pick. They only have 10 pick the ladt 2 season including this draft.
