Yeah he definitely looks good and has been a big part of why the Canucks have begun the season so well.

Bobby Orr? No. He was in a class all by his own. However, there's one defenseman (maybe two) that when I see him play he does remind of and that's Scott Niedermeyer. He was so smooth in his skating and he could easily make up for mistakes because of his skating ability. Hughes doesn't have the defensive game, but he is only 20 so it'll come.

Hughes has 100% confidence in attempting and making higher risk plays in the offensive zone which is really fun to watch as a fan. He is quarterbacking the Canucks power play and has the full respect of all his team as a rookie which gives you an idea of his off the chart talent level.

Agreed. Which is something that's really nice to see as a young defenseman in the league. He's going to take a lot of chances early on and get burned like all other defensemen, but if he can learn to reign in some of those higher risk chances and be more complete, there's no reason why he shouldn't become the best defenseman in Canucks history and one of the best in the 2020's.
