No thanks...I don't think Doug would put effort to be effective. He's kinda been semi retired, I doubt if can turn it on at this stage in life.

Gilmour was one of the best Leafs captains and leaders in recent years. He treated every game like a war and had more heart and emotion than any player or coach on the current Leafs roster. This is exactly the type of assistant coach that the Maple Leafs should want and also as a mentor for the young Leafs players. Players tend to actually respect coaches and assistant coaches who were actually ex-players usually more than coaches who never played in the Show and try to micro manage them to death. You need coaches who the players will go to war and play hard. Dubbas to needs to wake up and take a hard look at the present Leafs coaching staff and are they getting the best out of the current players.

I'm sure Leaf coaches, especially Babcock will take a hard look at the present Leafs MANAGEMENT team and wonder if they have acquired the best players available. I'm not fan of Babcock, he would say Leafs management...and it starts with Shanahan has been weak in past few years acquiring the right pieces for the Leafs. Management weak negotiating has resulted in no cap available to fill needed positions.
