This offer would likely be bested by another contending team

But they're isn't that many teams that can take the cap for hall

For a boat-load of assets I'm sure NJ would retain or take back an expiring deal

If another team offers more Colorado has more to offer. They could throw Shane Bowers or Conor Timmons in this trade as well.

it's not enough. NJD will look for at least :

-1st pick
-prospect
-condition if hall resign

and i think theyll ask for a depth player too.

I think an offer would look like :

2020 1st pick
Bowers/Kaut/Timmins (any of them)
conditional 1st if Hall re signs
Nichushkin/Greer/something like that

Look at Duchene trade

Kaut has a way higher ceiling than Abramov. Sure they can throw in someone who will never play an NHL game if you want. As well Colorado could go first this year second next year with the same conditions

more like the Mark Stone cauz I think Ray Shero would want max return for a player who wants out of New Jersey. (Same scenario as Stone @ TDL) Both are at the same age (from the 2010 draft) and they close in terms of skill. (Yeah I get the point that Hall won the Hart but his injury record makes him close to Stone's value)

kaut isnt a big enough of a prospect to get you Hall, Avs would have give up Byram if they want Hall extended

For hall as a rental give up a future top pairing guy? Never gonna happen. no one will give up A guy like Bowen for someone who might only play 20-30 games for your franchise.

Thats why I said for an extended Hall,

And you arent going to get Hall as a rental for a package that is arguable less than what the Rangers got for Hayes last year, who was a pure rental

Thats why there's a conditional first if he resigns. Hall for three firsts basically.

You have kaut and a 2nd turning into a 1st if he resigns, thats 2 assets, not 3 and Kaut and a 1st for an extended Hall would be high way robbery.
Mark Stone who was traded for and extended is your barometer of a trade. The precedent is out there

Never said it was a sign-and-trade. If hall choses to resign then that's a bonus.

Devils are going to allow for teams to talk extension with him, thats how they will maximize their return. Players of his caliber dont go on the market as pure rentals
