That's a lot for hall but it makes sense considering he'd be getting traded to a division rival. Love it as a Devs fan.

Yeah I would only pony up on a deal with an extension in place. But could be a good deal for both sides

Really optimistic that Ladd is permanent LTIR. Don't know of any team that wants to eat Boychyuk's salary for two years...especially if he doesn't want to be traded as he has a 8 team trade list.
Pulock at "just" 6.5m? Chabot and Trouba are starting 8m deals. Just don't know if Isles...and most teams have the cap for Hall.

Ladd went on "LTIR" for his conditioning stint in BPT. Looks terribly out of place even there. I don't think he would be willing to risk his health playing AHL minutes at 34-35 years old. On top of his back-to-back ACL injuries...might just find himself on Robidas Island.

Don't think it'll be that difficult to find a team willing to take on Boychuk. Could he strategically pick 8 teams that would be difficult trade partners? Sure. But in the end if a deal is actually made Boychuk would only be screwing himself.

Pulock's deal is 1 year shorter than Trouba and 2 years on Chabot. This deal walks him to age 30 which allows him to cash in one more time as the cap continues to rise (perhaps at a full 8 years). Skill wise, I also put him slightly below the two players you just mentioned. Don't see THAT much of an issue with this contract

How would Boychuk by screwing himsel?. There are 25 maybe 31 teams that don't want his cap....he can certainly list eight who don't want him/can't afford him. Take the buyout and then sign a UFA would be more benefical money wise for Boychuk. Easy eight teams....those at the and can't afford to give equally bad cap back to the Isles...which defeats the purpose of the trade.
Ladd isn't playing in the AHL. Either he healthy or he isn't. Now maybe he isn't medically fit, but the AHL has nothing to do with his fitness.

Why wouldn’t Ladd play in the AHL? He doesn’t have a NMC, he has no say in if he plays there or not

Burying Ladd (or any player) doesn't really help a teams cap. They still pay in cap all but 1.075m....and then have to replace that players in the lineup. So you burying Ladd, replace him with 975,00 player, you've saved 100,000. Pretty insignificant.

Replacing him with Cole bardreau who makes 700 k and is more effective. Ladd does not deserve to play in the nhl with the islanders.

It’s not about saving money, the islanders have better players and do not need him. Play. Your best players.

Montreal isn't going to trade the future to win now.
