EDM isn't touching Bear and they arent trading two better RHD for a downgrade at that position

Edmonton isn't going to trade Bear, and there is nothing that Toronto can really give that will change Edmonton's mind.

Really? Nothing? At least make your statements somewhat reasonable. Of course since we live in the age of extreme hot takes, Bear is now going to be massively overblown on here as any half decent RHD is, but seriously "There is nothing TO can offer" is just way too crazy.

I think Ceci has to be the most pleasant surprise for the Leafs this season. I don't get why he is being traded, he looks like he fits in and could certainly fit in the cap next season. One that they could do without is Barrie, they should be trading him and I think he offers the most trade value. I don't believe they will be able to retain him either.

okay let me rephrase that for him: anything Toronto would offer would have to be an overpay and they wouldn't do that

A bit of hyperbole but this trade is completely stupid for the oilers. Not even taking into account that they will be a playoff team.

Yeah of course its a stupid trade. Personally, I just get very annoyed with certain people on here and how their reactions to stuff is borderline manic. As for if Edmonton is going to be a playoff team, I am still not sure I buy it. Sure the Pacific is devoid of good teams beyond Vegas, but Edmonton has the absolute worst depth in the league and I still think it'll catch up to them. Worst case for them will be prolonged success this season, they are usually the worse team possession wise still and I really just doubt that McDavid and Draisaitl are going to finish with nearly 200 points each. They will fall back to earth but since the rest of their division is equally not very good, they could be far enough ahead to keep in a playoff spot. If they get lucky they could even finish 2nd and maybe win a round.

Larsson for Kap or AJ might make sense for the Oilers. Moving Bear barring an overpayment does not. The above offer certainly doesn’t get both..
