Not unless he accepts an extension under 6.66m, and that's not happening.

There are about 10 guys in the league I would be willing to part with for the next two 1st rd picks & Hall is not one of them. I am not sure why people act like he is Elite. He has one 30 goal season in 10 years.

One.

Youre also dumping the backes contract in this scenario and Zboril isnt really worth anything, just a lottery ticket for them at this point. So the first and second with Zboril is for Hall and the other 1st is for dumping backes. Not that outlandish to me

he's a point per game player on a bad/average devils team. Adding him to a stacked Bruins team makes them even more unreal.

See, I think you are wrong there. Zboril isn't nothing. He is NHL ready, there just isn't a spot for him right now. I do not want to give up anything of value to dump Backes' contract. It isn't worth it. Bury him and buy out next offseason.

They can get assets back rather than losing them if they deal other players to clear up space if they decide to go that route. Moore and Miller would both return 3rd picks, maybe 4th.

It cost them 4m cap next year and 1m the following year to buyout Backes. That is not worth anything more than a 3rd pick... His actually money is next to nothing, so there will probably be a team that needs to get to the cap floor, but doesn't want to actually spend money (I'm looking at you Ottawa).

A LW that they don’t need and can’t re-sign while giving up 4 long term assets is not the building of a dynasty. Quite the opposite. It’s a 1 year push followed by years of filling the roster with mediocre crap.

Pass.

Not for that haul on a rental.

There are plenty of guys on bad teams who produce at a much higher level. Also his MVP season is the anomaly in his career. If you take out that one year, he is a 70.5pts per season player who has never scored 30 goals. He is 28 which means his next contract will take him to his mid 30's. Nope. Not for a guy who can't stay healthy.

If you don't want him, fine, but pointing out his number of 30 goal seasons is kind of moot. He's over a point per game since joining the Devils and had relatively decent stats in Edm in which without his injuries would have easily hit multiple 30+ goal seasons.....

He's elite as much as the next guy. Doesn't mean you have to want him. Doesn't mean you have to say he's not elite either.

I just don't think he is. He's a good player, not great. Health is a skill as well. Also, it's kind of contradictory to say you can't bring up him lack of 30 goal seasons and then say he is a PPG player.
Just looking at LW (in no particular order) : Marchand, Ovechkin, Panarin, Connor, Lee, Giroux, Forsberg, Landeskog, Huberdeau, Gaudreau, Tkachuk, and Maybe Laine & Pacioretty I would rather have.

That's 11 guys ahead of him on LW. There is also Guentzal, Benn, Zucker, Skinner that would all be in the conversation as well.

First off, dynasty? I’ll be thrilled if Bergeron has this season, and next season left in him as a legit number one center. The bruins have this year and next year with their current core. Dynasty might be a bit much.

Then let’s deal with the trade: hard pass. Taylor Hall is overrated as a long term acquisition. When he’s healthy, and at the top of this game, he’s an MVP candidate. That just doesn’t happen very often. Some team will give him 10 million, and that team will probably regret it. No interest in this as a bruins fan. It’s way too steep a price to pay.

How is that contradictory? He'd have more 30 goal seasons than a bunch of those guys if it weren't for injuries. He's a 30 goal scorer as long as he stays healthy. Staying healthy is the other factor. The fact that he is consistently a PPG player shows why he is elite.

Either way, the question is not whether you'd take other players over him or not. That's your opinion. Its whether he is elite or not and his stats are among the best LW's in the game. Despite having terrible teams to play for.

It's contradictory because you said pointing out his (ONE) 30 goal seasons is moot, then you say he would have more if he were on better teams/stayed healthy. Menh...

If you remove his one breakout season, he is a 70 pt per season guy. That's what he is. Elite players put up numbers regardless of the ineptness that surrounds them.

Just like I look at Giroux and his one season that he put up 58pts and say, that's his career anomaly. 9/10 He will put up over 60pts. Just like with Hall 9/10 times he will not score 30 goals.

Why is the 30 goals the only factor here for you? Giroux only had one 30 goal season but that isn't detractor for him.

Anyways dude, we're talking over semantics of the nomenclature of how to call someone without a prefix naming system. Someone could call Lucic elite and their would be technically no definition as to say otherwise.

Hall is a good player. That is all that matters.
