Trade Deadline COL CGY WPG NYI

Created by: AJC13
Team: 2019-20 New York Rangers
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 24, 2019
Published: Nov. 5, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
AJ Greer is struggling in the AHL. The season is still young, but more and more it's looking like Greer's potential is as a 4th line LW - if even that. If I'm mistaken about Greer's potential, a different C to C-plus prospect could be substituted.

Greers suspended right now, he has nothing to prove in the AHL anymore to be honest, should be a 4th liner but wont be with the Avs.
Feels like its a bit redundant to have Greer and Lemieux on the same team, play the same style of game

I didn't know Greer was suspended. Thank you for informing me of that. Rangers like Lemieux getting 3rd line minutes, figure Greer would play on the 4th line.

came out of the penalty box to fight in the AHL, if you are suspended in the AHL you can play in the NHL, to be honest that seems odd to me. Plus he got into a arrested this offseason fighting in New York at a night club. Hes a bit of a head case.

Nick Henry would another prospect to target, think he has more upside than Greer

Two 2nd's is assuming Strome keeps putting up almost a point per game and by the trade deadline is on pace for 60 plus points. Strome likes playing in New York, so his point totals shouldn't drop off like it did in EDM. Appreciate the feed back, trying to get an idea of Stromes trade value if he keeps putting up points and NYR not being able to sign him as an RFA under the salary cap.

A 1st rounder in a deep draft for Georgiev?!?!? You gotta be kidding me. I’d barley give a 4th rounder for him let alone my first.

If you want a first from Calgary, it will have to be for a top 6 forward

Georgiev is out playing Lundqvist and turning into one of the better goalies in the league. He's also not yet eligible for arbitration, so a team up against the cap and in need of a good young goalie might value him more than a 1st round pick.

The goalie market is very thin. If a team (like Calgary) wants a goalie with starter potential (he his almost a starter at the moment) they have to pay the Rangers. They aren´t in the need of shiping Georgiev. There is a reason he had a 900+ SV% on the PK last season. Georgiev is a young goalie with tremendous upside. He is worth a lot.

i think he's betting on strome continuing his pace. he isn't a ufa at the end of the year either, he's a RFA. If he has 40-50 points by the deadline, he will probably get that return strictly because of offer sheet compensation

Y'all forget who drafted and traded away Strome when he was a top 10 bust before anyone else knew for sure he was a bust?

he got 50 points for the islanders in his second year, and consistently puts up 30 plus points. Worthy of a 5th overall? No. Worthy of being labeled a bust? No. He's an NHL player, just not a top line forward. He's performing like a very good 2nd line forward this year so far, so lets just wait and see. I get they traded him to the islanders (who drafted him), but two late second round picks will be his value (if not more) if he keeps up his pace so far. it's a if yes so we will see what happens

NYI didn't believe Strome was a bust, even though I believe they left him unprotected in the expansion draft. They traded Strome for Eberly, which was a no brainer when EDM started shopping Eberle around the league. Strome likes NY and would do well for NYI and Trots.

Why do always troll postings you don't agree with and then constantly inaccurately call posters trolls because they only share a different point of view than you?
