Hoffman doesn’t have a “bad value or bad rep” lol and yes your getting Eriksson but your taking Steiger (a starting d man for them) and Juolevi (one of their top prospects) while dumping tanev of them. They’d rather keep both those very useful assets then get rid of Eriksson for now as they could probably survive his contract. Even if Hoffman has decreased value you are giving them two 3rds for a top 3/6 winger on most teams (desmith could have been claimed Florida but they dont need him), so a terrible trad edit Florida to make. And although Jamie Benn has struggled last year you’re giving them 2 cap dumps for two seconds. And saying send us your captain and retain over 2 mil for 6 years while he can still put him 60+ points struggling??? Another terrible trade

First of all benn had 53 points last year not 60 or more. And so far he has 5 points this year and the owner of the team publicly insulted him and his contract.

2nd of all, as for your DeSmith comment, NHL GMs dont want to take people off waivers for the same reason they dont offer sheet people, this isn't some other major sports league. They know it will be hard to make trades with certain GMs later on if they steal their assets.
