Rather keep Bellows, Puljujarvi has shown less in the NHL than Ho-Sang.

except Puljujarvi is lighting it up in Finland, Bellows is from the same draft year and has yet to play an nhl game. ho-sang meanwhile, GM's know something we don't, because he hasn't been traded despite years of rumors and cleared waivers

This lighting it up narrative is getting a bit out of hand. Yes, he's over a point per game, but his 20 pts in 18 games is the equivalent of 41 pts over an 82 game season in the NHL. that is per the NHLe calculator on frozen tools. Not sure if everyone should be going bananas over half a point per game from a 21 year old.

If you feel that lightning it up in Finland translates to him being a good NHL player why trade him?

Maybe he does come back and plays well but he does not have a fit on the Isles. The Isles have Bailey, Eberle, Wahlstrom for top 9 RW, and he would not be a good 4th line player so would not replace Clutterbuck.

At this point I would not trade a 2nd or Bellows, let alone both of those pieces for a player that would not be on the Isles roster.

Why target Simmonds? He's basically a duplicate of James Neal - a poor skater who is a threat to score on the PP. And there's only room for 1 of them on the PP.

Because at this point he isn't going to play in Edmonton. And fair enough

i like him as a TDL candidate, I think he could give a boost to the bottom 6 during playoffs. He's physical and has a good knack for around the net, and personally I don't think he is as bad a skater as most people think. Probably better in the bottom 6 then the top 6 at this point in his career though.

I don't know, he's been declining steadily over the past 5 years, I don't think he's worth a 2nd. Is he better than Chiasson at this point? Tippett likes his bottom-6 to play fast (this is why Gagner spent some time in the minors despite having greater offensive ability than anyone else in the bottom-6), I don't see Simmonds fitting in there either.

If the Oilers make the playoffs i believe the bottom 6 will be looking differently, i made the second conditional for that reason. I'm willing to give a second as long as we make the playoffs. Every year teams seem to line up and offer up for his services whether they get them or not. Nashville gave up a conditional fourth and Hartman for him so a conditional second should be close
