Devils will just buyout Schneider after this season. No need to spend future assets considering they have the cap space and Schneider's contract is an easy buyout.

a) hes not spending future assets
b) id rather keep schneider than neuvirth
c) not an easy buyout, we cant afford dead money with our core just coming into new contracts - if hall stays absolute best case is 8 by 10.5 imo (which is still probably low unfortunately) as of right now, schneider comes off when hughes is ready for a contract. in that same period - palmieri, coleman, bratt, blackwood, zacha, boqvist and butcher will be nearing new contracts or have new contracts and this assumes we dont resign the likes of vatanen simmonds and zajac
