................ does the Tatar-Danault-Gallagher line look an awful lot like an identical (but less good obviously) version of Bostons Pastrnak-Bergeron-Marchand line?

Like its crazy similar in so many ways.

Pastrnak and Tatar both the skilled scoring winger types from Czech/Slovak areas. Used to be the same country.

Danault and Bergeron both Quebecor centerman who excel at both ends of the ice/defensively resilient/win faceoffs etc.

Marchand and Gallagher both diminutive but stocky scorers with a nasty/gritty sides.

Not a bad comparative, but Habs 1st line can't carry a PP by themselves. They're less offensive minded.

As similar as they are, talent wise boston are a miles ahead but they have been out effort by that montreal line. This is why they have succes because they work harder then everyone else

Nice comparison though. I've never understood the Tatar trades on this site by Habs fans. He seems to be productive contributor at a modest cap.

The big difference is the PP, at 5c5, the Danault's line is not far than the Bergy's line...

Because thy outworks other opponents. Most of the time they played sgainst player who are more talented but gallagher and danault constantly works and pressure the opponent.
