Trades
1.
CGY
  1. Toffoli, Tyler
Additional Details:
This trade is made off of the template of the Kings-Pens deal of last season where Pearson was traded for the pending UFA Hagelin. However in this deal both players are pending UFA

Toffoli has struggled the last year and change in LA, punctuated by the 27 year old being healthy scratched last week. It's no secret the Kings will move him this season, but for a player already in Mclellan's doghouse, how much better will his play get? Kings would definitely be selling low.

Acquiring Brodie allows the Kings to showcase him on their top pair with Doughty in an attempt to move him at the TDL for certainly a larger return than they would get for Toffoli. Teams are always craving D at the TDL and it is definitely not out of the question for the Kings to get a 1st or a 2nd and prospect for Brodie. To put in context, both players have 7 points.

Flames could use another right shot forward, Toffoli and Monahan play junior, they could potentially re-establish their old chemistry. The Flames are deep enough that they are able to move Brodie.
2.
CGY
  1. DeMelo, Dylan
Additional Details:
Ottawa has been rumoured to be in the market for a veteran forward in order to lessen the load on their younger players. Frolik could be a perfect fit for Ottawa, as he has consistently been among the leaders on the Flames in fitness testing, is a consummate professional, low maintenance. Question is why would he waive for OTT? Well it's no question that he has been in Peters doghouse the last year and change, he is currently on the 4th line. For a guy in his 30s and on an expiring deal he needs to showcase himself in an attempt to land an additional NHL deal after this one expires, OTT would likely give him a top 6 role. The Sens could then look to flip Frolik at the TDL for a pick to aid in their rebuild or they could look to sign him to an extension as they will continue to need to find veterans to supplement their young guys down the road

The Flames would like Demelo here but if not the Sens have 5 picks in the first 62 of the 2020 draft, they could be more inclined to move their 3rd because of this and the Flames would settle for a 3rd

Absolutely not. If they add a forward it will be someone young who could be a reclamation project like Fiala and Puljujarvi, or it will be someone available for super cheap like Namestnikov was.

I think if they trade DeMelo it will be for picks, but they sure as hell ain't trading him right at the start of Movember. Dude has the best Stache game in the league

Calgary as sure as hell don't need Toffoli, and I wouldn't trade TJ Brodie he's puts of good 30-45 point years, if anything they would trade Hamonic.
