Some Ideas on a Rebuild MTL PIT EDM NJ

Created by: OldNYIfan
Team: 2019-20 Minnesota Wild
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 3, 2019
Published: Nov. 6, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
An integrated scheme (I'm feeling extra proud of myself today) moving 4 roster players in return for two young hopefuls and two draft picks this year, among other assets, and three draft picks next year that should help the rebuild. Evans probably spends the rest of this season in Iowa but I wanted to show him on the roster. Minnesota takes a chance on Gusev but this could be a home run. Montreal's need for a first-class LD is well known and Edmonton needs better forward depth.

I would take that in a heartbeat. I structured this deal the way I did precisely because I didn't think Canadiens fans would be willing to trade either of the 2020 seconds, due to the draft being there.

Oh, by "first-class" I didn't necessarily mean "first line" -- I just wanted to differentiate him from the run-of-the-mill d'men I keep seeing people trade to you all for first-round picks.

Ylonen have more value than a 2nd round pick IMO

Fair enough. I would certainly be open to adjusting this trade, including by leaving him out of it. I was trying to get Evans plus the value of two seconds, but a second and a third is fine.

That's a silly offer O.O

Im a Habs fan and it's obvious how MIN get fleeced here. Brodin is worth way more than a second, a fourth and a B prospect.

You need to include, an established player, a first or an A prospect to start the conversation. ... Ylonen was a good start, not sure he has that value though..

I'm fine with moving any of these players. I'd want better returns for them though.

Bjugstad is $4m center that's made of glass. We already have Rask to fill that roster spot.

A rental+1 in Gusev doesn't make sense for a team that isn't very good this year, and probably won't be very good next year. If he was younger and had team control I'd okay with this trade.

Habs are robbing MN. If you trade Brodin you need to go for quality, not quantity. He's the best trade chip (not named Dumba) the Wild have.

I'm meh on Fiala, but I'd give him the rest of the season before deciding what to do with him.

Thanks for the input. Just goes to show me that I shouldn't necessarily listen to the first guy who comments.

In your book Ylonen is a B prospect ? Like Kaliyev Lavoie etc ? Late 1st and early 2nd round pick are B prospect okok

Donato is terrible! Pitt could find a better return elsewhere to save cap space.
Brodin is worth more than that.
Like Wabit said, Gusev is too old to do the Wild any good IF they rebuild as they should.
Trading Fiala for that paltry return would be selling way too low...even if he might very well be worth even less a year from now.
