Huge overpayment for Poolparty who has proved nothing in the NHL despite his draft pedigree. plenty of cap space to keep Alzner buried and more importantly keep Lehkonen even if the plan is to have him as a 13th forward.

You can't overpay when you arent giving anything of value.

I think I was referring to the 2nd round pick ... and for what its worth both Kulak and Weal performed better last season than Poolparty, which is not to say they are great players but more than Poolparty severely under-performed in a worrying way

If YOU are worried, why are you trying to get him?

You are offering a 2nd, a 7th Dman and 13th foward (healty scratches on an average team) , aka crap

for

a 4th overall, 21 yo power foward with 11 goals and 9 assists in 18 games in Finland top league.

You sound like someone shopping for a car trying to underline negative points to get a discount. It's not going to work with an experienced GM.

EDM is asking for a first round pick or a young offensive winger. Offer anything under that value and they will hung up on you and keep the asset.

I am not offering anything as this is someone else's post, but the 21 yo power forward and former top 5 pick was outscored last year by Brett Kulak who is not even that good, despite his getting a chance to play with McDavid. His physical attributes are impressive but there are significant questions about what is between his ears and his capacity to learn English well enough to be competitive outside of Finland so I don,t think any team will part with a first or a slam dunk prospect.
