Finishing touches to a mostly fixed team

Created by: MajesticWalrus
Team: 2019-20 Vancouver Canucks
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 7, 2019
Published: Nov. 7, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Markstrom has been good but he's gone 5-2-3. 2 losses and 3 losses not in regulation. So he has only won five games, so he's only won half the games he started. Demko on the other hand has gone 4-1 with a higher winning percentage, save percentage and GAA. Markstrom also has a history of not being able to get many shutouts if at all, only 3 career shutouts. Therefore, he's not going to steal the canucks games, he's not a game changer.
Stanley cup winners have had game changers in net in the past few years including murray, holtby, binnington, fleury, quick..etc.
Canucks need an all-star starting goalie since theyre looking to make the playoffs this year. It just so happens that Dubnyk and Quick can probably be acquired for a lot less right now since both teams have decided to downgrade their team by trading away major assets reflecting in their team stats and both of these things reflecting in their goalie stats. Theyre both only 4 years older than markstrom and have plenty of career shutouts. MIN has more than 3 million in cap space while LA has about double that with more than 6 but theyre division rivals unlike MIN so a deal may be more difficult with LA.

So you want one of Minny's top wingers, and their starting goalie with retained salary for a terrible contract, a goalie who you just bashed and said can't win a Stanley cup or steal games, and a couple low level players? Do you know how trades work?

Dubnyk is underperforming very badly right now, his value isn't good. And zucker is making more than he should with just a 42 pts season last year and bound to do worse with a lot of important players gone from MIN. I also mentioned how theyre value has been lowered in the description already. Do you know how to read?

Lol, you complain about markstrom not getting any shut outs as you lost your last game from a 3 on 0 in 3v3 overtime. Maybe help the goalie out and he'd get some shutouts, not like you guys have the best defense in the league.
yes these 9 games on one of the worst teams in the nhl have plummeted Dubnyk's value. Considering Zucker is already 1/4 of the way to his total last year i doubt he will do worse.

Comments like that just prove their defence is underrated. If edler was healthy he could score 50+ pts just to give you an idea of him alone being underrated. Go check his stats. Markstrom doesn't make huge saves regularly like you'd see Fleury do.

This is Edlers 14th season and he has never had over 50 points. Hard to say he's under rated when he's on the downturn of his career

That's only because of injuries. Did you look at the amount of games he played per season? He has scored 30+ pts in under 60 games played twice. Thats a 50 pts pace but he could have got 60 if he kept a 20 less pts than games pace. He also had other good offensive and defensive seasons.
