Description

Neither of the pieces coming back in the trades matter at all. Just wondering if it's worth it to trade Timashov for anything of value over losing Spezza to waivers. I think the advantage of keeping Spezza is that he can play up the lineup in case of an injury, and he probably won't rust as bad sitting in the press box.
Honestly, just trying to find ways to keep Spezza around...

Why would Carolina give a 6th for Petan when he is on waivers and they only have 45 contracts?

For the life of me, I have no idea why Edmonton isn't offering something for Petan or Bracco or Timashov or half the other depth guys TO has. Petan is probably better than Gangner at this stage of their careers. Edmonton is such a weird franchise, they know or should know, their depth is terrible and yet they don't take chances on picking up low risk high reward players. Petan I think could produce in a top 6 roll but has never been given a chance to be an offensive guy. There are a few teams that a speedy highly skilled player would be of value.

I agree! Edmonton should be adding some of these guys but Holland is too conservative
