Doesn't really check any boxes for me. Bjugstad is a Minny boy, but we don't need to be giving up younger players with potential for a middle 6 forward and some 'meh' picks.

More. Definitely more. Fiala and Donato are top 6 young players.

I’m just running with a rumor...it was reported a few weeks ago that Minnesota made Fiala, Donato, and Eriksson Ek available in trade talks. It was also reported this week that the penguins have at least checked in on Fiala and with Minnesota apparently struggling with center depth Bjugstad makes a lot of sense for them.

Or fiala? Hasn't he been a healthy scratch? That doesn't sound like a top 6 forward. That sounds like a bum.

Donato had 15G and 19A in 68 games played as a 21-22yo (which is very good) b/f he went to a very bleh MIN team.

I guess I should have added the word "potential". I'd much rather have top 6 potential, young, cheap guys than someone we know is a 3rd liner.

Good players get sat. It happens. Also, if he's a bum why do you want him?

I could understand a Fiala for Bjugstad swap...but two good potential assets are just way too much.

I don't. Ive mentioned numerous times today that he isn't an upgrade over bjugstad. In fact he is worse. Good players don't get sat. Good players play. Mediocre and bad players get sat.

Sorry, son. You're wrong. Good players, especially ones that are young still learning the game, get sat a lot.

The Wild are also a badly build team. Zucker, Parise, Greenway Foligno, Fiala, and Donato make for way too many LWs on one roster. It's partially a numbers game with who gets sat, and vets are getting a much longer rope than the kids.

Fiala was as bad as the rest of the team to start the season. He got injured, pressboxed, and the coach laid into him; he's responded pretty well to so far.

Bjugstad is not the answer to the Wild's center woes. The contract term doesn't fit with the team and he's made of glass. If they want him, getting him as a UFA in 1+ years makes more sense than trading for him.

As a Caps fan I can tell you Kuznetsov, Vrana, Wilson, Burakovsky all got sat in their first couple years. They have all turned out good to freakn great. Hell Brett Connolly was scratched multiple times the first two seasons he was with us.

You haven't named any good players let alone top 6 players.

Fiala isn't young anymore. He's 23. Been in the league for 5 years now and has played over 200 NHL games. He's not a rookie.

he was sitting in the AHL with boston bouncing back and forth because he couldn't stick. Now he's not performing with MIN and the only reason he's not back down in the AHL is they aren't as deep.
So lets just get rid of this idea he's a top 6 player. He's not. Please keep the conversation based in reality.

WTF are you talking about. Healthy scratch doesn't mean you get sent to the AHL. It means you sit for a game.

healthy scratch?
WIlson played 82 games his 1st and 3rd year and was injured his 2nd.
He's been a full time starter ever since.
Vrana played 73 his second year and 82 his 3rd. His 1st year he was in the AHL.
clueless statement. You are just talking garbage. You have no clue wtf you are talking about.
