I will never agree with trading Ehlers for Risto, no matter what else comes back, unless its someone BUF wont move.

Ehlers is the best Jets forward, trading him for Ristolainen and some stuff would be epically bad asset management.

Another overpayment by Buffalo. Samuelsson is dominating in NCAA. His coach Terry Murray - Former NHL player and coach says he is the best D prospect he has ever coached . This kid should not be included in any package . He will be an anchor for Buffalo D corp in a few years

If it was Risto and Couzens/Mittelstadt where we were addressing 2 needs at once (top 4 RHD and 2C of the future) then it would be an entirely different story. We don't want nor need more bit parts or depth players.

With Eichel/Mittelstadt/Couzens you're going to be wasting one of them as a 3C or else they'll need to move to the wing so IMO they would be available for a top line winger on a value contract.

You also need to move a RHD with Risto, Montour, Jokiharju, Miller, Bogo on the right and Dahlin all needing protection in the expansion draft you'll be losing someone really good for nothing.

Is Ehlers for Risto the most popular trade idea for Sabres fans? The more games Ehlers plays the more untouchable he becomes. Risto would fit nice on the jets, but they arent trading one of their best players for him
