KK is a nice piece and all but Tony is quickly looking like a return of a 2020 1st + if he is indeed traded. Throwing in a borderline #1 goalie makes this painfully lopsided.

These are atrocious for the two team without a Leaf in their name.

Minny trade swap Johnsson for Nylander and they might consider it... might.

Rangers trade is not all that far off but TOR would need to add a 2nd at the very least.

Yes, and that is strike 2 against new GM Bill Guerin already... Strike 1 was being stupid enough to take the Wild job in the first place! For the record, I am not mad about him resigning Spurgeon, he is a great player...I am pissed off about signing him (a teeny tiny, 29 year old d-man) to a 7 year deal!

I guess they did, didn't know that, don't want Spurgeon at 7+, enjoy being terrible wild

How is Lilgegrin (sp?) developing? Would you consider swapping him in and Bracco out in this deal?

No I wouldn’t. He is doing quite well both with his offensive and defensive game. I would swap Bracco or maybe even add on top of him one of our other 3 defensive prospects. Unfortunately with Spurgeon’s new deal and age it really affects his value. To be honest ceci hasn’t been bad and he could be re signed to a better deal than Spurgeon who I think will be in a heavy decline by the time the wild are ready to truly contend.

Bracco is in there to get you another RHF. If given a chance I think he could surprise.

I’ll do up an agm for the trades and see what it looks like this year and next.

One of the ways I assess a new contract is how it affects the player’s tradeability (if that’s a word)...and you are correct, it makes acquiring Spurgeon questionable at best...proof it was stupid for the Wild to do so!! I would not have given him a day over 5 years on his new deal!

Anything in the 6-7m x 5 and I think I would have been willing to offer a better package. He would have one year left when Matthews and nylander come up and would be an easy contract to move.

Why not? This DeAngelo hype is going to be dead by next season when he's a permanent third pair Dman on our squad (Trouba and Fox will always be ahead of him on the depth chart/in the lineup) and barely able to produce. Also, sorry, but he's not great defensively. So we'll be saddled with a $4+ million third pair Dman on a team that is going to come down to the wire as it is with cap issues (Shattenkirk buyout penalty is like $6 million next year). Kapanen has shown strokes of brilliance but Babcock rips his confidence to shreds for every minor mistake while keeping him on the third line where he can hardly produce anyway. And Bracco is the real deal too - close to NHL ready, and would be excellent in a top-9 role in the NHL. I'll gladly give us overrated, overvalued third-pair D and backup goalie for two top-nine wingers.
