Still waiting

Created by: SlickWilly

Initial Creation Date: Nov. 8, 2019

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Still waiting for them to get Sikura up here. Our top 6 has looked good the past few games (minus the abomination in SJ) and I think that can stay consistent. However, I think if we put Sikura on that 3rd Line with Kubs and Dach he will get boatloads of assists and plenty of opportunities for goals as well. I think the best case scenario is where we have the depth to have Shaw and Caggiula on the 4th line with Kampf, because while yes, it could be a checking line, everyone on that line still has plenty of offensive upside. Basically, Zack Smith should be irrelevant and Carpenter should be the 13th forward

I vehemently disagree with your assessment of Ryan Carpenter. I can't imagine how he could deserve to sit... he has been one of our best and most consistent forwards this season. Perfect 4th line center.

It's been a couple years, but I'm still pissed the Sharks put him on waivers. He's exactly what they're missing.

I imagine he would have a place on almost any team in the league now. He is great!

Gotta keep Carpenter in the game. What an amazing signing by Bowman. 3 years $1M is a steal. I know he's not going to put up a ton of points, but he's a game disrupter/plays the PK/hits people and every team needs those guys. To get him for $1M per year is awesome.

Totally agree with you on Sikura, I think there’s a really solid player there. His possession numbers were really good too last season. He’ll be in the NHL at some point this season, be it in Chicago or elsewhere.

I do agree with everyone else’s assessment of Carpenter though. He’s a perfect bottom-6 forward, no reason to scratch him. Idk who you move out though....

IMO with Dach and Carpenter Kampf is a little redundant.

I did not mean to say that Carpenter is bad, not at all. He is a great defensive forward with a lot of bite and good forechecking ability. What i meant to say was that if he is our 13th forward, then we are in a very good position and I think that him, Kampf, and Caggiula play a very similar game and it would be a rotating door on the 4th line with whoever is hot at the moment. Reminds me a lot of Desjardins from a couple years ago, very integral to the cup winning teams.

I think that Carpenter should probably play over most of the bottom 6 forwards.

Thats completely fair, as he has definitely been one of the hardest working players over the past few games and plays his heart out. My lineup here is just based on upside and projected ability. I definitely like him recently and think its good that Colliton trusts him in difficult scenarios right now
