Take Jurco out of the TO trade and add a 4th or something and that would work. For the life of me, I can't understand why Edmonton wouldn't just pick him up off waivers. What do they lack? Speed and skill in depth rolls, what do they do about it? Nothing.

Both Jurco and Petan were on waivers at the same time. I think that was his train of thought - they both have essentially zero value so they can be traded for each other. Probably the reason Edmonton didn't claim him was because it would put them at 49 contracts, and Holland likes to have a little room to move. He publicly stated that he doesn't like to have more than 48 on the books.

That is fair although I am sure they can probably find someone to take on a contract just to make room. I think Petan would be pretty good in Edmonton if he played in the top 6. Oh well.
