Kylington has had a limited role thus far in his NHL career. His skating his elite, he just needs to work on his decision making. He will be a top 4 defender in the next year or two.

Hall is not what Calgary needs.

Calgary needs a 2C and this trade really doesn't address that. Until they find a 2C teams will just shutdown the one good line in the playoffs.

What centre that will make a difference will be available. Probably none. Flames need another top 6 forward regardless of position or handedness. Having Tkachuk and Lindholm on a line together wouldn’t be that easy to shut down, 2 guys who will put up 60-70 points this year

This would definitely win the Hall auction maybe a bit of an overpayment but idk if we can afford him next year, unless he takes a hometown discount Hall might not be the guy the flames want. Also i think Hall would fit best on a line not with Gaudreau. So either:
Hall - Monahan - Lindholm
Gaudreau - Backlund - Tkachuk

Or

Gaudreau - Monahan - Lindholm
Hall - Backlund - Tkachuk
