Yes, need talent in top 6, but physically powerful players are also needed, especially Foligno, our team is too soft, and players like Sobotka, Vesey, Sheary and Rodrigues give nothing to this team.

The past cup champions have won with depth scoring. Foligno isn't helping that. Grit is being left behind. Speed is the new way to win

The past Cup champions also won with grit. The last 2 years both teams winner and loser have been filled with grit. Grit isnt going away, its evolving and teams like Toronto (tons of scoring depth) that are actively eschewing this notion are getting manhandled in the playoffs and completely underperforming

Grit + speed is even better, but it's not just about speed, Sheary seems to be fast, but there’s no point, as soon as our team is beaten physically, we don't even have anyone to answer.

His value is actually inflated rn imo and it would be a good time to get away from him

Like when Sobotka got his knees blown off today and their was literally no response instantly or for the rest of the game. And then Tampa just trapped them down and physically wore them down for the rest of the game. Thats what we can expect for the rest of the season. Our high flying team isnt going to mean anything when teams know they can trap us and wear the lines down.

If somebody goes throw a punch what gets accomplished? The Tampa Bay Lightning are gonna get scared? Not attack? They're gonna go into a 1-3-1 and call it a day? And when did we become High flying? With Risto and Mccabe handing the puck over in our end we can't even make the neutral zone

There may be many scenarios, another team may shrink, or your team will feel more confident and will go on the attack.

As i proved in your other thread youre just making stats up according to your opinion. McCabe is 3rd on the team in TA/GA average. And yes teams will shrink, you dont even have to throw a punch. Just watch the Sabres last few games when teams started playing physical the Sabres shrank and stopped controlling the possession. Not even factoring the physical exhaustion of getting ran through the boards and dropped every shift. Not everything can be quantified by numbers, advanced stats nerd will never understand that and thats why advanced stats only wins in baseball

I really don't think any team gains confidence from a cheap shot

I do not agree, this gives an impulse to emotions, if they beat us, we should beat in return and not shrink. Remember the game with Anaheim this season, we won 2-1 in first period, but they started to beat us and we shrink.

How about xG and XGD? Corsi? The lack of offense? and the amount of shots allowed? He's overrated by the sabres fan base. The fact that he sniffs the top 4 is rough. And The sabres have been getting outplayed because they can't connect passes from end to end. Or can't get it out of their own zone

Physical play and trap tired the team out while ANA was fresh all game, they kept rolling their top 2 lines to get back into it causing more exhaustion leading to more mistakes that Anaheim (NYR, TBL) took advantage of.

More often than not you fire up the other team by reacting.

Also disproved that. A defensive defenseman with majority defensive starts and PK time who doesnt have positive possession stats is not shocking. And again with 5 GAs thats not McCabes fault.

Based on? Youre opinion? The same opinion that has McCabe as a turnover king, despite McCabe statistically being the complete opposite?
