Description
As beneficial as the trade was bringing Trouba to the team, the Rangers have a lot of young up and coming defensemen and they can be willing to trade away Trouba. There is also the fact that his speed is a real problem when it comes to teams beating him on breakaways. This trade will happen before his NMC kicks in. While also giving Edmonton a new #1 goalie who by the offseason will have proven his potential to be an elite goalie.

The Rangers could throw in Kakko and EDM still declines easily. Draisaitl is a top 5 player and he's paid $3M less than fair market value. He's untouchable.

Nobody saw it coming because it’s ridiculously lopsided and Chia’s not there anymore. No sane GM could look at it and not laugh hysterically .

Poor Trouba. cry He wanted to leave Winnipeg (Canada) for personal reasons. He took short term contracts, less money so he could leave the Jets and sign an long term extension with an American team.
Then you trade him to the Oilers.shakes head You probably thought the Spanish Inquisition was fun time for non Christians.
