Check out the goalie I suggested in the post right under your post. It gets you an all star goalie and a B- level prospect plus it saves a $1 million in cap space as opposed to the $800K it saves here. What do you think of that trade?

Are you throwing in a 1st with Jones??? Why does Buffalo even pick up the phone on this deal?

I don't know much about Spiridonov or Jasek but Markstrom is a lot more proven than Ulmark. With an extension in place for Markstrom that would be a better option for the Sharks

Because they get a more proven netminder with a higher upside than Hutton. Jones was once an elite starter if he could recover that would solidify the crease for the Sabres

Jones was never an elite starter. He was an average starter at best for 3 seasons on a stacked Sharks team and was a good backup on an even more stacked Kings team. He is one of the worst starters in the league rn and is being paid like a starter.

Gotta believe the Bills would prefer long term cap space than long term Jones

Jones is a career .910 save percentage and is at .888 for the season. His upside is not higher, and he is only going to get worse as he gets into his 30s

I wonder if Rask is the star goaltender or not? It’s just that his and Markstrom have very similar statistics, only one plays in the star team, and the second plays in the recovery team and only this season is trying to qualify for the playoffs. And I'm not saying that Markstrom is a star goaltender.

No team in the NHl is taking a chance on Jones and his 5.75 million cap hit for 5 more years. He's been one of the worst goalies in the league for some time now

Rask is currently 3rd, 4th, 6th, and 5th and the 4 ratio categories this year.

Markstrom is 20th, 19th, 12th, 18th.

You tell me. But then again i wasn’t calling Rask an All-star either so it’s a piss poor arguement.

No, I know that you didn't call Rask the star goaltender, I'm just wondering how this star goalie is determined.

Part fan vote, part league choice.

Markstrom isn’t even top 3 in his division. Imagine if Quick and Jones were not struggling where he’d be?

Thanks. All those tough games against division leaders and the Sabres....no Bills lose to the Browns. I'm a Bills fan. Also I am now out in my suicide football pool thanks to Atlanta beating New Orleans.

Neither are old for a goalie. Quick’s body may be at this point.

But it has nothing to do with Markstrom not being All-star caliber . Was just making a point, if those 2 were on their games he’d be the 6th best starter on his own division. I could argue at least one teams in the division has 2 goalies better than him. ??‍♂️
