If Sorokin signs long term right away

Description

Could Sorokin sign with NYI during THIS season? Hear me out..if he gets to Gagarin Cup, his year ends in late April. Assuming he would even come over, could Lou sign him to his ELC in May? (similar to Vegas' deal with college Jimmy Schuldt last year)

Not suggesting he plays for us this year, just stash him in the AHL.

His 1 year "ELC" - which from what I understand is all he could sign for anyway, would expire 3 months later in July 2020. He's an RFA with NYI and eligible to sign long term this July 1.

I'd personally love to pay 2 different goaltenders $5M at the same time for 3 years. I'd imagine sorokin plays a season in the AHL before making the leap, takes some time for goalies to acclimate to the new ice

He's a pretty highly rated prospect. Give him 67.5.

That's interesting. That could be really bad for the cap situation. I hope that's not the case.
