Personally, I wouldn't make that deal. Proven NHL center (a 3C under any coach other than Quinn) for unproven winger. We need centers - we have enough wingers. Would love to acquire Puljujarvi, but not for one of our top prospects.

Saw lots of high praise from Rangers fans about Andersson, curious checking out his stats. He plays roughly 10 mins a night and takes avg 5 draws a night, what am I missing here from the Stats that makes him this proven NHL C? Bc hes not taking regular draws even in a 4th line role.

Andersson just seems like hes misused or under utilized as well if thats the case

disagree. Both players obviously need a change of scenery, and the Rangers need some wing depth. Lias is being restricted on this team. Both players have the potential to succeed as a result of this swap. I might recommend a slight raise to the round of pick there though.

not quite equal....one has had plenty of time in the top 6 to show that he's belong and has done nothing with (if anything Puljujarvi compares to a poor man's Howden value-wise). The other has had a dman and an ECHL player as linemates essentially his entire time in the NHL after dominating the SHL.

If anyone needs a change of scenery it's Quinn.

being on the 4th line is Quinn's problem not Lias'. Remove the actual problem...

With respect, Andersson is NOT a proven NHL center.

In 63 career games, he's scored just 3 goals and 9 points. That's below replacement level.

30% GF% last year. 20% this year. And all while being one of the most sheltered players in the league. None of this points to a "proven NHL" player.

It's not all about points, and his low point total is because he's been playing under an inept coach who benches him on a whim and plays him like 6 minutes a game. The tools are all there, the two-way play is there, but it's hard to produce when you aren't given a chance.

Guarantee if the Rangers trade him now, he'll become a staple of the acquiring team. It'd be foolish to trade him now.

I guess you missed that I mentioned more than just points?

Andersson is getting his *ss handed to him at the NHL level despite the coaches best efforts to shelter him from elite NHL players - that's the reason for the benching, not some inane bias.
