No I didn't set the lines yet but he would be the starting goalie. Is the trade value fair?

As a Caps fan, the Sharks are not trading a potential lottery pick for a 29 year old goalie who averages 10 wins a year and is off to the best start of his life.

I do agree that they might want to slightly overpay to try another goalie, before thinking about bigger changes to other parts of their roster, but let's be reasonable: https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/1501759

this trade will never happen because demko is the goalie of the future. Is there something of importance to that random retention number? I don't really see why this trade would ever happen but if we are only talking value then I suppose it is close.

My vague idea of where the Sharks are at is that even with Thornton and Marleau back, they aren't looking like a playoff team right now, so they might have to decide whether to go for it and then rebuild, or just rebuild. If they end up rebuilding in two or three years either way, then Jones' salary doesn't matter, and maybe he gets back into shape. So trading a 1st to save money doesn't seem like what they'll focus on. I think they could consider Markstrom for Dell, 3rd, prospect.
