Yeesh you’re far off on this.

You’re going to have to pay Quality not Quantity.

It's not even close to enough. These deals won't happen. Think (2) 1sts, Casey, Cozens, Joki and some cap hits. You don't trade #1Cs on GREAT contracts without getting a crazy stupid haul in return.

There is no deal between Winnipeg and Buffalo for Scheifele that doesn't include Eichel or Dahlin. No other combination of pieces, regardless of how many you put together, would get the Sabres anywhere near him.

AHLer C.J. Smith plus a swap of late round picks doesn't get you Puljujarvi either.

Moving one of the league's 5 best value contracts would require a pretty darn good prospect. Buffalo doesn't have the assets needed to start a trade like this. (Reinhart would be the starting point)

The last post post makes a point but I'd say you have to overpay to get him and that's only IF the Jets wanna move him.

Eichel is better than Scheiffele.

in the offensive game, yes, but as a stable leader, and defensive player, no. MS is better. MS contract is also better. thats why its a 1 for 1.

There are plenty of quality pieces there. Miller is a top 4 D on Winnipeg with a great contract. Mitts is a potential elite 2nd C. Thompson is a top 6 RW. Vesey can slot in bottom 6 and would fit right in with the big boys Winnipeg has there like Lowry, Copp etc. Bogo is what he is, probably a depth D but a guy who can resign cheap and provide leadership. Also a unprotected 1st in a loaded draft. There are quality pieces and there is a quantity of them. Scheifele as a player is not worth more than that imo, but I do think Buffalo would have to really overpay if Winnipeg would ever part with him (which I know they wont).

CJ Smith can actually do something on the ice unlike Puljujarvi. I don't really care what his ceiling is, he hasn't proven anything at any level of hockey. CJ Smith has proven he can produce in the NCAA and the AHL and there is no reason to say he couldn't help out the Oilers with some scoring.

And I lastly say to you sir that we live in different worlds. MS is a fantastic player and I love every part of his game and personality but Jack Eichel is a franchise player pure and simple.

More butter please. Miller is an overpaid 6d, Thompson is a spare and CJ is an AHLer

Then why isn't CJ playing with the Sabres right now? It's not as if they're scoring at will in 5-on-5.
Puljujarvi's ceiling potential is elite forward in the NHL. CJ Smith's ceiling potential is Bottom 6 forward in the NHL, and he's got a ways to get there.
