The Kings say yes. Getting a 2nd, plus two players who they can flip for more picks (like a 4th). Hopefully Kovi works well for EDM, turns into a win-win.

You must have a LOT of faith in Ryan Nugent-Hopkins.

LMAO, good luck flipping Sam Gagner and Brandon Manning for picks. No will even give you a cheese burger for those two.

Hes washed up and has another let on his deal. Gagner and Manning are off the books after this season. Just because we finally won a trade (Neal for Lucic), you think its about time the Oilers lose another?

Kovalchuk won't waive his NMC to go to Edmonton, so it's moot. However, even if he did, a 2nd round pick isn't enough to warrant LA holding on to 50% of Kovalchuk's contract next season. Reduce the retention to $1.25M and I think the Kings would go for it.

Agree.

I do not see why LA would do this. For the right to pay an AHL D $2.25M? For the right to pay a broken forward $3.15M? For the joy of retaining $3.125M for two years? All for a 2nd?

$11M for a 2nd.

LaDue could be a good fit at 2RHD while Larsson is out. Good idea. Not quite worth a 2nd, but once you throw in Manning's cap hit, that seems fair to both sides.

Kovalchuk has nine points this year, through 17 games. He's on pace for decent middle six numbers. He's been pretty good in the past. Some team would give another 2nd to get him at the deadline. While Gagner has just one point this year, the Kings aren't going to give away Kovalchuk just for cap relief, because they're rebuilding either way, and not looking to take on cap.

We are half way through November that's not how pro-rated Salaries work.

I love Nuge and last year he scored with "No Goals" Rieder and "Goal Per Million" Lucic so I'm sure he could still score but Idk about Kovy

1.73M+2.42M+2.4M+3.125M

9.68M for a second.

$9.68M instead of $11M. Heck, I'll go $9M. Do I hear $7.5M? Are you happy now? It's not relevant. Your trade is still horrible.
