Trades
1.
CHI
  1. Kapanen, Kasperi
  2. 2021 3rd round pick (TOR)
Additional Details:
Third-round pick added in because this happens in the offseason after Ceci is shot out of a cannon. (Also we need a third in next years draft)
TOR
  1. Kämpf, David
  2. Murphy, Connor
Additional Details:
I saw a trade similar to this from @Chi_Hawk, and even Logan Oliver said it was close to fair. One of Logan's problems with thie trade was that he thought Shaw was overpaid, and too that I say fine, have a david Kampf to replace Spezza
2.
CHI
  1. 2021 3rd round pick (MTL)
  2. 2021 3rd round pick (CHI)
Additional Details:
Matta is good, but we ought to try and get some young blood on the left side. Keith isn't getting younger and we have a boatload of lefties in Rockford.
MTL
  1. Määttä, Olli
  2. 2020 4th round pick (CHI)
Additional Details:
Habs fans say they need an LD, here is a serviceable one (he's actually been rather good in Chicago) for a cheap deal. They also get another pick in this years draft.
3.
CHI
  1. 2020 6th round pick (STL)
OTT
  1. Smith, Zack
  2. 2021 3rd round pick (MTL)
Additional Details:
People in OTT like Smith last I heard, Chicago got fleeced in this trade I admit it, but here is a third to take back a fan favorite.

If MTL go for a LHD it will be for a top one as we have plenty like Maatta (Chariot, Kulak, Reilly etc...) we need one to play 20min+ with Weber and reduce Mete exposure

Fair enough, WPG is another alternative. Thanks for the clarification.

I don't think Matta is best suited for a top LHD role. Any team that trades for him should put in in a middle pairing slot. This is where he is best suited.

Trade us Gufs instead to see if he fit well in MTL... and maybe we could resign him at 4yX4M

I like these trades a lot but would add the Gus trade at the TDL for a 1st just to show the assets in the draft. A couple things I would correct
1) Forget Frolik. We have bottom 6 depth guys in Rockford like Entwhistle, Kurashev, Barratt should be signed
2) Not sure we keep Caggs. Once we know where the cap will be and any bonuses we carry over, I'd rather see a guy like Entwhistle or trade Shaw. As much as I like Shaw, that cap hit should be a top 9 cap hit and as such with these moves and the way things have shaken out so far in this season, Shaw is more valuable to another team in this scenario then throwing him on the 4th line.
3) Beaudin I believe will take another year in Rockford based on what I've seen so far. He's improving but needs to fill out more and learn the physicality of the pro game...that will take time and yes i think he ultimately becomes a 2nd pairing but not next year. Gilbert and or Holm should be ready to step up before Beaudin.

I think you have a fundamental misunderstanding of how the Blackhawks operate Chihawk. We will likely sign Frolik because he would meet our "former Blackhawk of the year" quota. Other than that the only thing I want to say in response to your comments is that I think that StanBo will likely keep Gus at the deadline unless we are in the bottom 5 in the league. People are really buying into this draft being insane, and I don't want to ruffle any feathers by trading Gus for first-round pick.

Otherwise fair criticism, the only reason that I have Beaudin on the second pair is because I feel that C De Haan and Seabrook pairing has been good lately, and I want to keep Seabrooks minutes as low as possible.

Yes this draft is going to be the best in the last 7 to 10 years. If Hawks are 6 points or more out of the wild card, there is no way that's a competitive playoff team and time to sell. Gus needs to and would look at also moving Caggs, Shaw, and even Strome. Picking up 3 first round picks via trades, despite being late 1st rounders, and then trading all 3 picks into the top 15 while having the Hawks pick in the top 15? Two picks in the top 15 of this draft would be incredible. Plus the cap space we'd pick up to make a splash in free agency....wow! Dreaming obviously..
