So a 1st for Kreider since Galchenyuk has no value to a rebuilding team. I would assume that offer can be topped quite easily

NYR have liked Galchenyuk from the past. I think we can use him if PIT accepts.

I don't see how this makes sense at all for the Rangers. NYR has a shot during free agency to go after Yuk. Pitt doesn't have the prospects for Kreider and they won't want to trade in division.

I can agree with that, I think it's bad for both teams. Kreider is a rental and Pitts is trading a 1st and a top 6 player. On the other hand NYR is trading a solid top 6 player for a 1st and a UFA that they may or may not be able to extend/flip, Rangers would rather get a prospect
