Andrew Ladds Guide to a Perfect ACGM Team

Created by: AndrewLadd
Team: 2019-20 Pittsburgh Penguins
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 13, 2019
Published: Nov. 13, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Step 1. A buyout when buyouts aren’t even possible at this time of year is a great start to a ACGM team.
Step 2. A Jack Johnson trade is almost a must, and Linus Ölund is almost always the best option as a sweetener. *Side Note* Trading Jack Johnson to a team near the cap ceiling is ideal.
Step 3. Next, make a trade that doesn’t work cap wise.
Step 4. Put a prospect that is not even close to NHL ready in a prominent role in the lineup.
Step 5. Trade a former UFA that you’re team just signed, as well as get something significant in return.
Step 6. Acquire Ryan Pulock is a completely lopsided trade.
Step 7. A Taylor Hall trade is a MUST. *Side note* ALWAYS throw in a “hometown discount,” no matter how far from home he actually is.
Step 8. After the first 7 steps, just make sure u made AT LEAST 5 trades, if not get to that mark, as u must complete an unrealistic amount of trades.

So close, but where's the salary retention on Hall and Pulock?

I’d be under the cap floor, and that would just be ridiculous

Secret tip - for the elite kids - trade Jesse Puljujarvi for a blue chip piece coming back. He has value trust me, he’s scoring in Finland.

Or Petan, because even though he's been on waivers multiple times, someone will give up an asset for him.

Same with Djoos; he’s an steady top 4 dman. He’s just unlucky this year. Should be costing atleast a first

Another good option if you don’t have the bait necessary to reel in a fish as big as Puljujarvi

He is quite large. Id think if you can’t acquire either you could use the already acquire hall and instead flip him for more assets you sent; likely to a bottom of the pond team and acquire their first round lottery pick + assets (unprotected obviously you’re sending them taylor FRICKING hall) even if they only use in for the last 2 months of the regular season

Well the leafs fans r really benefitted here because if they send Mitch Marner who’s on a GREAT CONTRACT and better than Taylor FRICKING Hall u could probably get the sens and sharks first round pick as well as Thomas Chabot to fix their defense

Leafs would have to retain close to 25-50% tho. It’s only fair. Let’s not be savages here

You forgot to add a permanent AHL “prospect” for a bottom 6 winger. But the rest seems legit.
