Make a play for Hall

Created by: qazzwy
Team: 2020-21 Vancouver Canucks
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 13, 2019
Published: Nov. 13, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Assuming cap goes up 3 mil. Signing Lehner to split starts with Demko is his first year as a starter. Tough to throw Demko into a 60 start season where this way maybe Demko gets 45 games and Lehner takes 37. The Canucks will have Pearson, Sven, Edler and Benn all coming off the books to give them cap room to sign Petterson and Hughes the following summer. For the 2021 season they will be able to add cheap replacements like Podkolzin, Madden and Hoglander which will fill roster spots.

Trades
1.
DET
  1. Sutter, Brandon
  2. 2020 3rd round pick (VAN)
Additional Details:
Just trade him for anything without retaining salary.
2.
OTT
  1. Eriksson, Loui
Additional Details:
This trade makes sense because Ryan is cheaper to buyout which Melnyk is unwilling to do. As well, the Sens need to reach the cap floor and Eriksson's salary for the last 2 years is very small since the contract was front loaded even though the caphit is still high.

Laughably low for Lehner, he'll get 6+. If you are looking for a 1B, there are other options for less.

Thats fine they can sign him to 5.5-6.5 for a year. If he requires term then the deal won't make sense, but I hear what you are saying.

He definitely will. If he keeps up the level of play he is now, I'm guessing he gets 7x5.

Detroit passes. Detroit likes Hicketts and have at least 3 Dmen retiring or just not resigned at the end of the season. So I'm pretty sure they don't trade him for a 30yr old forward playing well below his cap hit.
