Leafs fans will say it’s an overpay I’d imagine. Stecher would help them though. I’ll make the popcorn and see how this goes.

I like this team better than the team I just made. Except the Clifford contract, Dubie can dig up something cheaper and just as good for the 4th line. Spend that money on a better back-up.

As a Canuck fan I feel that value wise Johnsson > Stecher but the problem is we don't really need another left winger, we have:
Miller
Pearson
Roussel
Ferland
Baertschi
Leivo
Schaller
Eriksson
Goldobin

By comparison the guys behind Stecher on the right side:
Fantenberg on his off side
Woo
Rafferty?

Not to mention that Tanev is likely to be injured at some point and I love having Stecher because he proved last year he can step up and play.

no offence - but all those wingers are significantly worse than Johnsson other than JT whereas Ferland is more of a third line grinder - I think Johnsson would make some real good chemistry with Petterson and could perhaps be utilized on the right

I like Clifford because A) I think he would be interested in signing in TOR and B) has some talent and gives much needed toughness to the team

Agreed 100% Johnsson would be a good piece to add but I think our current team needs Stecher more than Johnsson. If Toronto wanted to add some

Totally agree that Johnsson would be our 2nd best left wing but in terms of asset management I'd prefer to keep Stecher and not have to waive and possibly lose a serviceable NHL winger. This makes the trade effectively Stecher + Leivo/Roussel for Johnsson which I don't think it's good business for the Canucks.

What we need is a trade that converts some of our surplus depth forwards into a pick/prospect. Would be open to trading away Pearson, Virtanen, Baertschi, Goldobin, Sutter, Ferland, Eriksson, Motte, Leivo, Schaller, Beagle or Roussel.
