2nd round pick in 2021 (COL) + one of Ranta/Mutala/Helleson/Greer/Stienburg/Kovalenko or a different B prospect for Lundqvist

Bjork, John Moore, and a 3rd for Kreider from Boston. I don’t think he’s worth all that much.

if it's only a 2nd rounder, it would be bowers over any of those. the reunion with dq makes sense too

No deal. We are taking Lundqvists full 8.5M cap hit so you arent gonna get a recent 1st round pick + a 2nd rounder for him

Sanford, 2020 second round, 2021 3rd round which turns into a second if Kreider resigns with the Blues.

Please stop bro. I have so much love for the bruins. Don’t be offering a overpaid veteran who we dumped and has FOUR years left just to be a 7th defenseman. Bjork is nice tho good bottom 6 guy and a 3rd but for Kreider isn’t close

You're not getting value for Lundy without retaining.

If you were any other organization but the Rangers I'd say you're never trading him, because his cap hit is huge, he has an NTC and he is a pillar in the organization's history. But the Rangers have made a habit out of successfully and repeatedly getting out of bad contracts so I won't say never

Would be a good experienced backup who can start 30-35 games and still has the ability to steal games

like i said above, doesn't matter what round he was picked in he's still a b prospect at best. and he was also 28th overall so he was one of the final 1st rounders that year.. he has 4 points in 21 AHL games (including playoffs) so it's not exactly like he's increased his value (and since the duchene trade it's gone down, at that point in time he was just drafted and he didn't perform amazingly in college or in the ahl so far)

He was really good in preseason and almost made the team out of camp. I would consider him an A- or B+ prospect, either way I wouldn't give him and a 2nd for Lundqvist without retention

What I mean is I wouldn't expect to get guys like Bowers unless you retain half his salary. I guess Colorado could afford him. They're about teh only team who could afford him and is competitive.

If you retain half his salary then his pedigree can likely get you a decent return

This is just my view but it seems to be typical over total NHL prospect rankings:

Rank 1-25 - A Prospects
Rank 26-50 - A- Prospects
Rank 51-75 - B+ prospects
Rank 76-100 - B prospects

This is just one example, but THW ranked the top 100 going into this season.. bowers didn't make it.
https://thehockeywriters.com/nhl-top-100-prospects-ranking/

the LWH also did the top 100 (sorry you have to click next link 4 times to see all)
https://lastwordonhockey.com/2019/09/22/2019-top-nhl-prospects-100-81/

bowers didn't make this list either.

I'm not saying he's a horrible NHL prospect, I'm just saying his NHL projection isn't that of a b+/a- player.. these are almost always top 6 players and bowers is projecting to be more of a 3rd line player (that isn't a bad thing, he's still an NHL player).

https://www.hockey-reference.com/players/l/lundqhe01.html

look at the stats for Lundqvist in the playoffs, he always plays better in larger games. I know people have said he is declining, and they aren't wrong. But look at his goals saved above average, he is performing much better this year than last year. I think this number would be much better on colorado given the state of their team vs the rangers being the bottom feeders that they are.

IDK if colorado is the best buyer (since they have a goalie already), but I also know NYR and henrik want him to retire a ranger, IDK they would give him up for an offer that wasn't in their favor. Then again i'm not the GM, just giving my opinion on the trade posted.

Fair enough. I like how much you looked into it but the classification of Bowers doesn't change that I just wouldn't give him and a 2nd for Lundqvist.
