Because he has value and we aren’t going anywhere this year. Why do the devils want to move Taylor Hall? Might as well let him walk in FA right.

True, was just curious if he wants to stay or if the Hawks want to keep him since he's only 27 still

We’ve got so many young d-men who are supposed to come up and do what Gus did last year. I don’t like banking on prospects to fill specific roles, because you never really know what you have until a guy makes the NHL, but with Boqvist, Beaudin and Mitchell, among others coming up, surely one of them will fill that role.

The other reason is that he isn’t having a great year. He’s been nonexistent offensively this season (but honestly not a pylon defensively like some people say), so moving him while he still have be perceived as a bounce back candidate seems to be a popular move among Hawks ACGMs, myself included. All that said, I don’t think we get a 1st rounder back for him in any deal, especially in this year’s draft

Rangers decline. The term on the awful Seabrook contract is too much to swallow. We already are in a bit of cap trouble for the future so this is a no.

If the past offseason had gone differently and they still had plenty of cap space it might have been a good idea, but not really feasible now.

I feel like Nyr will have a better chance not getting Seabrook but I’m also not so sure that Staal will move his NMC.
