don't think we'll be able to trade Labanc, Doug must have promised some pretty good cash in the future for Labanc to sign a 1 million dollar contract

Labanc still has to earn it and he’s played like crap all year. He’s a team worst minus -13 with 9 points in 19 games while getting a ton of PP minutes and playing with great players. Dunno why people think Doug owes kevin, that’s not a thing. He was given a “prove it” contract and has failed to so far. He still shows heaps of immaturity and makes glaring mistakes almost every game. Only reason DeBoer hasn’t benched him is because we’re very low on RW’s. Hell even Goodrow has been better than Labanc.
Pharow liked this.

Sharks are pretty high on Korenar who is having another good year with the Barracuda. I think he gets the backup spot next year. I like Georgiev but it wouldn’t be a 1 for 1, NYR needs to include picks.

Georgiev is a potential starter. While Korenar could shoot for a backup spot, Georgiev could legitimately take the majority of starts away from Jones (who has been awful). Considering his struggles, the higher need for goaltending, Georgiev excelling (arguably worth a 2nd and a 3rd), and Labanc "playing like crap", I don't think much else would be needed.

Goalies arent worth that, and any team would be dumb to trade a top six forward for a goalie

Labanc is young and has struggled this year yes, but we do not need to be getting older and trading forwards is not a smart move unless we get a young one back

It’s a good point and maybe Labanc will come around. He’s still useful but so far this year it appears he has taken a step back in development.
