Team: 2019-20 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 14, 2019
Published: Nov. 14, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This team is again going nowhere (again). 3-1 vs the Canes in the second? Please end me. Getting ridiculous at this point. A few more years of suffering and the Pegulas will become James Dolan level bad owners. I could be talked into an Eichel trade at this point (this is sarcasm but a part of me thinks it isn't).

That Reinhart trade? Minny says yes and then asks if you want to trade Eichel for Parise and Dubnyk?

While I know AA's value is no where it was last season but Thompson hasn't even played a NHL game this season. I don't see Yzerman letting him go for this and if he does it will be at the TDL. Yzerman does like AA and with the season he had last year you want to be absolutely sure trading him is the right move or last resort. Plus he has 3 goals and an assist in his last 5 games.

The toronto and reinhart trades are hate crimes. Edmonton says no, not sure about detroit. Moving our 4th line is probably fine- yes they can cycle, they really dont score (i mean skinner just bounced one off of larssons ankle, but thats the best you can hope for), and our pk has been brutal, which is something this line handles.

How do you blame the Pegula's lol, especially what theyve done for the city. Botterill is gun shy after getting completely embarrassed in the ROR trade, he needs to man up and make some tough decisions

I understand that they've done a lot for the city, but that has no bearing on whether they have run the team well since purchasing it, which they haven't. How can YOU say this is not their fault? They hired Botterill, just as they hired Murray before him. Both have done crappy jobs. Look at Tom Dundon, the owner of the Canes who purchased them in 2017. Two years later and they're a cup contender. Nine years Pegula has owned the team and they have been complete dog**** the whole time.

I think other teams recognize that Reinhart is a 55 point player without Eichel, not a 70 point player. I may have traded him a little low, but I don't think it is that far off. For the Toronto trade I think that's pretty fair value. Miller just got healthy scratched, and we only gave up a third to get him. You're telling me you wouldn't give up a second and a third for Kapanen? You're probably right about the EDM trade and I don't know about the Detroit one, maybe it doesn't really make much sense.

Dundon inherited a good team. Pegula inherited a team on the verge of a rebuild. Ive been sold on how bad GMTM was and his deals put us back a lot of years. So yes they hired one wrong guy, but i wouldnt write them off because of it. They werent even the main decision makers in that time, Lafontaine and Ted Black were the 2 that push Murray at Pegula. Then you look at the Bills (who i personally dont like) and theyre not as much of a joke and even made the playoffs. For now GMTM is to blame for this mess, the Sabres right now are where the experts expected them to be. Botterill does need to do something with this locker room with the assests he has available, i think there is enough data to see what this team needs going forward
