3 years left for both Alzner and Ryan so the Habs give up the prospect? I know Alzner may not be an NHLer anymore but the cap difference nullifies any additional player, picks or prospects from Montreal, IMO
Again with the cap difference between Kinkaid and Anderson I'm not sure the Habs do this and a draft pick, although the value is better going the Habs way.

Both these trade just seem like taking on cap space for the sake of taking on cap space. Makes zero sense.

I think Mtl is improving while taking cap space which they have. Ottawa have also cap spae but need to improve. Short term, with giving out Anderson , they will improve their draft pick situation.
